So we had 17 or so spam accounts register over the last couple of days. It was nice to see the member count grow until Basil noticed they were all coming from the same place. In light of that, we’ve blocked an entire ISP and I’ve installed a captcha for registration. I’ve also turned it on for commenting.
I’ve noticed a lot of accounts have been registered and blogging has started, but then after a few posts they go away. I’m not really sure since I’m not in tune with the community, but if anyone has ideas on ways to bring people here, please let me know.
Have a happy holiday season, in whatever way you celebrate it !.

When my friend Rod was diagnosed as HIV+ I thought he needed his own space to talk about his feelings, his anger, and his frustrations. Other blog sites tend to be drama central and filled with self centered personalities. Not something you really need when you’re dealing with a life altering diagnosis. I offered to help him administer the site, but my intention was to pretty must be hands off for blogging here. I’m not HIV +, but I’m not ignorant about HIV either. I’ve lived with friends who had it, and lost a few along the way, but keeping a personal blog here seemed like I would be speaking out of turn. I keep a personal blog elsewhere and I don’t need yet another one. With that in mind, I’ve kept my own posting to a minimum and pretty much concentrated on running and enhancing things.Today I saw something that gave me reason to post.
Today I saw a woman wearing a t-shirt that said “we ALL have AIDS” .
Think about it.
In one way or another, this disease affects us ALL.
Several new features have become available, witha few more to come shortly.
A Flickr badge is now available for your blog, as well as the ability to embed Youtube videos into your posts. A statistics monitor has also been turned on. You can see how many views your blog is getting from the StatPress option on your blog admin page. You also have the optio to turn on or off the OpenID feature. This can allow people to sign in with their OpenID in order to post comments to your blog.
In the works are some new security features to block comment spam. This hasn’t become a problem yet, but I’m trying to head it off before it does.
If you have any requests, let me know. I can’t promise anything, but I’ll look into it and let you know one way or the other.
Greetings everyone ! My move is completed and things are getting back to normal. My apologies if you didn’t get this in your registered email account. Comcast blocks me as a spammer sometimes, even thought I’m one of their customers.
The MLP blog software will be upgraded later this evening. I’m planning for around 11pm CT in the US. I’m going to presume that Word Press has done a good deal of testing before they released the update, and everything will work out just fine. If you see anything really strange, please let me know. Some new themes and requested plug-ins should be coming along in a few days. I want to make sure this first upgrade goes well before I add anything else.
We’re currently 25 strong and growing. Now entering our 4th month, we’ve had just under 1000 unique visitors from countries around the world. Please help spread the word.
Live Life Positive !
Update : The upgrade seems to have gone off without a problem. Please let me know if you see anything really strange, or if something is outright broken.
I’m going to upgrade the site software sometime in the next week or so. I’m preparing to move soon, so I want to get this done before then. There shouldn’t be any major changes. We haven’t had any big functional problems that I’ve heard of, and since this is just a small update release it should go smooth. If you see anything weird and strange, please let me know.
I’m Brian, the site admin. I’m here to manage the site for Rod and lend a friendly ear when needed. Please let us know if you have any questions, suggestions, or experience any problems with the site. I’m still learning how everything works so I can’t promise I’ll be able to answer your question right away, but I’ll try my best.
